Short Term Goal #1

Ok, the mouse project. This is what I currently have:

It's a Targus mouse and in the back is a small blue light that is kinda cool looking except at night when it brightens the room. The whole exterior feels like a cheap plastic and I think if I squeezed it hard enough, I could break it. It is an optical mouse so it's not that bad but the plastic feel really bothers me. So what to do. I have a few ideas currently but I'm thinking of more things. If you don't know, I have an Apple iBook so one of my first ideas was putting the mouse into:

A classic original Apple mouse. It's really outdated but it'd be unique here on campus. But it'd be quite bulky so I need some more ideas.

Also, my cell phone is dead. A few weeks ago, the hinge on it broke but it was fixed with glue and a piece of plastic. But now, it seems to be a software problem. None of the buttons respond expect the one to turn it on and off. So unless it gets fixed, it is dead. But on the plus side, I now have (although broken) cell phone technology to have fun with.

First of the Firsts

I have two goals currently:

  1. Long term goal: Research and make a firework rocket that explodes at the height.

  2. Short term goal: Open up my optical mouse and place it inside something cool.

The second goal is a fairly common one so all I really need to do is find something that I can place all the hardware inside of. I was planning on a Mint Box but that is quite common. So I search.

The First goal will last at least a year. With July being my mid year review of all research. I plan on showing it off next February on campus.

I placed a few new links to the right with some great project sites. I love reading about what others have accomplished.

In the Beginning...

I've always had great ideas and plans since as far back as I can remember. Doing things or creating things that never came to fruitation. I'm just a curious guy is all and I enjoy learning and doing things.

But I almost never finish.

I get interested in something and research it and plan it but my ideas always lose my concentration and they disappear forever. I'm gonna try to keep an update for myself so I can see any progress that I make and hopefully I'll finish things.

Most likely, however, this will be a junkyard of intellectual and public property.

:-)

It begins Today!
